Kent Speedy, owner of Tropical Smoothie Café is opening its new location in the Town Hall Shoppes plaza on Cedar Bridge Avenue near Carrabba's Italian Grill and the UPS Store.

Speedy, a resident of Toms River, is also the owner of the Tropical Smoothie Café on Hooper Avenue in the Michael's complex. Jan. 2024 was the opening month for it.

His words, "I just love running businesses," "It’s what gets me going."

According to him, he chose to become a restaurant franchisee because, although he enjoys managing companies, he didn't want to start from scratch.

"The franchise model for me is fantastic because I’m good at executing the business plan, while they deal with the creatives," Speedy explained. He claimed that Tropical Smoothie Café's franchising provided a quick learning curve for restaurant management. "They guide you along the way."

At the Brick location, Speedy anticipates having 15 to 20 staff members and offering a menu that isn't only drinks. The menu includes flatbreads, wraps, and bowls of fruit, yogurt, and protein.

Additionally, it provides more than 20 smoothie varieties, including kid-friendly alternatives, Paradise Point and Jetty Punch for fruit fans, Island Green Detox for vegetarians, and Acai Berry Boost for fruit lovers. Another option is the Sunshine Smoothie, which donates to No Kid Hungry, a group that works to ensure that underprivileged kids are nourished, with every purchase.

Speedy stated that although the restaurant held its soft launch on Monday, the official opening is anticipated on September 15. According to him, the grand opening is scheduled for Friday, September 19.

According to Speedy, the store will be taking part in an event called Fanfest during that week, when customers who have signed up for the Tropical Smoothie Café Loyalty app will receive a complimentary smoothie when they purchase food.
