Tropical Storm Updates: New Forecast for New Jersey
The most recent forecast indicates that the Garden State may see some rain in the second half of the week as a tropical storm system moves north.
In some areas of the Carolinas on Monday, the storm dumped up to 20 inches of rain. It will be wet here in New Jersey even though there won't be quite as much rain as elsewhere. It might be advantageous because it hasn't rained in the majority of the area in over a week.
The National Weather Service warned that the storm from the Carolinas can merge with another storm that is still developing. The amount of rain could vary depending on how that storm moves, according to forecasters.
Wednesday might bring additional intense rain to New Jersey if it stays near the coast. The National Weather Service stated that if it moves farther offshore, there might be sufficient dry air coming from the north to keep the rain offshore. Forecasters appear to believe that the latter scenario is more plausible.
The outlook for Wednesday night and Thursday is likewise uncertain, but meteorologists say that further showers are still probable.
According to
NYC weather, later on Wednesday, expect a little rain to develop.
The mid-70s will be the high point.
Before we gradually clear out the next weekend, just in time for Fall's official arrival on Sunday, showers may continue into Thursday and possibly even Friday.
