After being struck by a car on Wednesday morning in Parsippany while riding an electric scooter, a 12-year-old kid is in critical condition.

Parsippany Police were called to an accident along Halsey Road and Quaker Road on Wednesday at approximately 7:15 a.m.

On Halsey Road, officers discovered that a 2014 Subaru Impreza had struck a youngster.

According to the police, the Subaru hit the child as he crossed the double yellow line into oncoming traffic while he was traveling west on Halsey Road on an electric scooter.
The helmet-wearing child was sent to the Morristown Medical Center for treatment after suffering "serious injuries" in the collision.

The Subaru's driver remained at the site of the collision. According to officials, the Subaru's speed had no role in the crash.

Halsey Road between Quaker and Ludlow roads was blocked by police while they looked into the incident. Since then, the road has reopened.

There is currently no other information available, and the crash is still being investigated.
