Two Dead Following Multi-Car Accident in South Jersey
According to Hamilton Township Police Department, in the Township of Hamilton, a driver crossed the center line and crashed with two other vehicles Wednesday afternoon, killing two individuals and badly injuring a third, according to police.
A 21-year-old Cedarville resident was driving a 2018 Hyundai Elantra west on Millville Avenue (C.R. 552) at approximately 4 p.m. when he crossed the center line into the eastbound lane, according to the police.
According to authorities, the driver struck a 2019 Nissan Altima being driven by a 59-year-old man from Atlantic City and a 1999 Jeep Cherokee being driven by a 59-year-old man from Hammonton. Both vehicles were traveling east.
At the scene, the drivers of the Nissan and Hyundai were both declared dead. According to authorities, an adult passenger in the Nissan was taken to the hospital due to severe injuries.
For over five hours on Wednesday, traffic was rerouted around the area while the collision was being investigated.
