Two Individuals Charged Following Point Pleasant Home Invasion
According to the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office on Friday, two Californians were taken into custody after breaking through the door of a house in Point Pleasant, stealing the contents, and firing a gunshot before fleeing.
Oleyah J. Brown, 21, and Jaheim Wilson, 23, both of Stockton, California, are accused of home invasion burglary in connection with the Thursday incident.
According to the prosecution, Wilson is also accused with unlawfully possessing a weapon and possessing a firearm for an unlawful purpose.
According to prosecutors, at 1:38 p.m. on Thursday, Point Pleasant police were called to a residence on Barton Avenue. Before the man fired a single shot, the resident told police that a man and woman had broken in, taken the resident's belongings, and kicked in the door, according to authorities.
Then, according to authorities, the man and woman fled.
Wilson and Brown were discovered in Toms River at approximately 11 p.m. Thursday and taken into custody after authorities were able to identify them as the burglars of the house, according to the prosecutor's office.
In anticipation of detention hearings, both are being detained at the
Ocean County Jail.
