Two Lanes on Garden State Parkway Closed Due To Wildfire in Ocean County, NJ

According to New Jersey Forest Fire Service there is a WILDFIRE ADVISORY: Garden State Parkway Mile Marker 77, Bayville, Ocean County

The New Jersey Forest Fire Service is on scene of a small ~1 acre wildfire in the median of the Garden State Parkway in the area of mile marker 77. The fire is not expected to grow in size.

PARKWAY LANE CLOSURES

Two southbound lanes and one northbound lane of the Garden State Parkway are closed while firefighters work to contain and extinguish the fire. The public is advised that smoke may be visible for an extended period while firefighters work to mop-up the wildfire.

Motorists traveling in the area should remain cautious of smoke. Additionally, we ask that motorists watch for firefighters and fire vehicles that may be working on the roadsides. No further updates are expected for this incident.
