Upcoming Coastal Storms Could Bring Snow to New Jersey

Upcoming Coastal Storms Could Bring Snow to New Jersey

Depending on how two coastal storms develop, New Jersey may see snow accumulation later this week, according to the most recent prediction.

According to AccuWeather, a jet stream will descend into the eastern United States on Thursday. The location of this jet stream will dictate the formation and movement of a coastal storm.

A storm that moves farther east would only deliver snow showers concentrated in the state's northwest.
Another possibility, though, is that the storm sticks nearer to the coast and causes a blizzard throughout New Jersey.

A second storm's outcome will depend on how this first storm develops. Paul Pastelok, an AccuWeather Lead Long-Range Meteorologist, stated that "the next storm would likely push out to sea later this weekend if the storm on Friday is strong and hugs the coast with snow." "However, if the first storm is weak and moves out to sea, the second storm could become stronger and track much farther north."

However, it's also feasible that neither storm will produce any noticeable snowfall.

Keep up to date with the latest forecast.
