Officials in New Jersey are advising drivers to drive cautiously on the state's roads as the autumn white-tailed deer mating season approaches.
Director of the Division of Fish and Wildlife Larry Herrighty has stated in the past that deer are "engaged in thousands of incidents with motor vehicles in New Jersey each year, with the biggest number happening during the fall mating season."
We firmly advise all drivers to be especially vigilant for the likelihood of deer unexpectedly darting onto highways and to be aware of certain preventative measures they may take to lower the danger of significant damage to themselves or their passengers.
