Weather Update: Rainfall Expected Soon in NJ

Rainfall Expected in the Upcoming Days

According to the National Weather Service most recent forecast, there may be some respite from New Jersey's record-breaking dry streak this weekend as rain is expected to fall throughout the Garden State.

Since the start of the region's drought on September 15, no area has had any notable rainfall. Many wildfires have started throughout the state as a result of it; the most recent one started in Jackson on Wednesday night.

However, there is some hope because Sunday night is predicted to bring detectable rainfall. According to a National Weather Service graphic, there is a 70% chance of rain for the whole state of New Jersey.

The majority of Ocean, Burlington, and Atlantic counties are under "extreme drought" conditions, according to the most recent map from the U.S. Drought Monitor, which was updated on November 7.

The state is experiencing "severe drought" in many areas, while only a few areas of North Jersey are experiencing "moderate drought."

However, dry air will persist until this weekend, raising the possibility of wildfires. Additionally, temperatures are abnormally high; according to the National Weather Service, Trenton and Atlantic City both set records on Wednesday and could do so again on Thursday.

There is still a probability of rain later next week. To completely stop drought conditions, there must be a lot of rainfall, like that from a tropical cyclone.
