Weekend Beach Forecast for the Jersey Shore
Are you planning to go to the beach this weekend? According to National Weather Service, the forecast for the weekend looks good for the beach and sun. However, there is a HIGH risk that rip currents will form along the Jersey Shore. On Sunday, there is a minor decrease in risk, but isolated thunderstorms are still predicted.
The heat and humidity return for Sunday with heat indexes in the upper 90s/triple digits. A Heat Advisory has been posted for the urban corridor and parts of New Jersey.
We also will have the chance for some severe weather. Showers/thunderstorms move in on Saturday Night and another round on Sunday afternoon/evening. The higher potential will be on Sunday, with damaging wind gusts being the primary threat for both rounds.
