When Will New Jersey's Unpleasant Weather Finally Clear Up?
According to the most recent forecast, New Jersey will see torrential downpours, continuing the current pattern of gloomy weather, while temperatures will rise into the 90s and maybe even reach 100 degrees.
As sporadic rains persist, temperatures in certain parts of the state might get to 70 degrees on Tuesday, according to
National Weather Service forecasters.
The forecast calls for strong thunderstorms and "hazardous heat" by Wednesday, especially in South Jersey and the Philadelphia metro area.
According to National Weather Service forecasters, strong to severe storms are expected to bring destructive wind gusts, heavy rainfall, and even hail.
After sunset, storms should stop, bringing with them a warm, humid night.
According to the National Weather Service, Thursday will see even more heat and a higher likelihood of severe storms. However, forecasters are unsure about the precise course of storms due to model differences.
As the
summer solstice approaches on June 20, heat will begin to migrate into New Jersey from the west this weekend. It also appears that the weekend will be largely dry.
"Widespread highs in the 90s are possible,"
AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Chad Merrill stated, "but the amount of moisture in the soil may hold actual temperatures back just a bit as opposed to if the ground were dry.
"With AccuWeather RealFeel® Temperatures far above 100 in the afternoons, it can feel very oppressive when the heat breaks out, especially when moderate to high humidity levels are taken into account."
