A power failure has resulted in over 1,800 residences and commercial establishments in Toms River being deprived of electricity, leading to the disruption of traffic signals on Saturday night.

The Ocean County Sheriff's Office reported that the outage has impacted traffic signals in the downtown area of Toms River.

Additionally, minor outages have been noted in Island Heights, South Toms River, and Berkeley Township, as per Jersey Central Power & Light, which anticipates that power will be restored by approximately 10:30 p.m.
