Will New Jersey Experience Snowfall in the Coming Days?

Tranquil and dry conditions are expected through today, with temperatures just a degree or two lower than Sunday.

Looking ahead to Tuesday and Wednesday however, portions of our region have two chances for precipitation. Neither chance is going to bring any significant moisture/snow accumulation, but could have some other impacts according to the National Weather Service.
Snow Squalls in NJ
First, Tuesday morning, there is a 20% chance for a band of snow showers or snow squalls to get as far south as the I-78 corridor before dissipating. No significant accumulation is expected, but even a light coating of snow in a snow squall (combined with gusty winds and low visibility) can result in hazardous driving conditions.

There should be a lull in any precipitation Tuesday afternoon into Tuesday evening, then a 20 to 30% chance for showers is possible late Tuesday night through Wednesday for areas mostly north of Philly.

Depending on the timing of these showers, they could be primarily rain for most of the area, but primarily snow for the Poconos and NW New Jersey. Again though, no significant snow accumulation is expected with this round.

In northern New Jersey, flurries can persist until roughly 9 or 10 a.m. on Tuesday morning, but they won't be an issue.

Other than that, Tuesday afternoon will be partly sunny. Tuesday will see highs in the 40s. The forecast for Wednesday calls for a partly sunny day with snow showers moving north of New Jersey.

Although they wouldn't leave any accumulation, some snow flurries might make their way into the state's northern regions. Moreover, highs will be in the 40s. The weather for Thursday and Friday appears to be pleasant, with seasonal conditions and passing clouds.

For a longer length and a larger impact, Saturday is the next day worth watching as the rain turns to snow. However, the change might not occur if this weather system breaks through during the daytime. Check the latest weather forecast.
