2 Alarm Fire MULTIPLE UNITS Involved in Lakewood

Fire in Lakewood NJ on 12/4/21

According to Jersey Shore Fire Response

Around 1:18 p.m., Lakewood dispatch received a call about a reported structural fire on the first level, with dogs trapped and flames and smoke visible.

According to the first reports, someone was attempting to extinguish the fire using a fire extinguisher. E-5 reported seeing the column in the air on their route to the area and phoned for a general alert. Ladder 5 arrived first. L-5 and E-5 were the first to arrive, followed by Chief two. They were greeted by strong flames from the first level and began an attack plan while connecting to the nearest hydrant in front of the fire station.

Soon after, Chief 2 called for a 2nd Alarm, and the fire began to spread. They had fire from the first and second floors, as well as through the roof, about 15 minutes later. Mutual help arrived on the spot and continued to battle the fire until it was extinguished.
