According to Manchester Police Department,Earlier this week, Clyde Jackson, 64, was reversing out of his Milford Avenue driveway in his 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis when he lost control of the car and plowed through the neighbor's living room wall, according to Capt. Vincent Manco, a spokesperson for the Manchester Police Department.
Jackson himself was not injured in the accident, Manco said. However, according to Manchester Capt. Vincent Manco on Tuesday, Gloria Eppig, 57, of Dallas, Texas, was visiting the home and was sitting in the living room during the time the car crashed into the house. She was transported to Community Medical Center for treatment and examination of injuries that were not thought to be life-threatening.
The Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst Fire Department, the Whiting Volunteer Fire Department, the Ocean County Technical Rescue Team, the local building inspector, and Accurate Towing Service all responded to the incident.
Driver mistake seems to be a contributing element right now, according to the investigation into this collision, Manco stated in a prepared statement.
