In a two-vehicle collision on the Garden State Parkway in Wall on Sunday, two men from Toms River were killed, according to the New Jersey State Police.
Around 1:31 p.m., Jerome Digiovanni, 75, and Ronald Devingo, 57, both Toms River residents, perished in a right-lane collision.
Devingo, a passenger in Digiovanni's Chevrolet Equinox, was standing on the left side of the SUV when it was struck by a northbound Jeep Wrangler, according to Curry. Digiovanni's SUV was stopped in the right shoulder and right travel lane.
The state trooper claimed that Digiovanni and Devingo both suffered fatal injuries as a result of the collision.
According to the New Jersey State Police, the Jeep's driver, Christopher Mulholland, 24, of Belmar, suffered just minor wounds.
Two right lanes of the Parkway in Wall were shut down as a result of the collision for roughly two and a half hours, according to Curry. The accident is still being looked into.
