The Ocean County Mall is getting a Texas Roadhouse.
The Toms River Township Council voted Wednesday night to approve a resolution authorizing the transfer of a retail consumption license from Ocean Ventures Liquor LLC to Texas Roadhouse.
The restaurant's address was given in public notices announcing the transfer application as
1201 Hooper Ave.The restaurant chain, which was founded in Kentucky in 1993, has over 580 locations in 49 states, including nine in New Jersey. The Toms River location would be the county's first.
Menu items include hand-cut steaks, ribs, and "country dinners" such as pulled pork, fried sirloin, and pork chops, according to the company's website. Shrimp and country-style chicken dishes are also available at the restaurant. The chain also has a large beer selection and 15 margarita varieties. Steak dishes make up roughly half of the menu.
