Obituary for Maegan (Mae) Leigh Higham, age 32, of Chadwick Beach, NJ

Maegan (Mae) Leigh Higham, age 32, of Chadwick Beach, NJ passed away on June 2, 2024 after a courageous battle with Adrenocortical Carcinoma (ACC). She was surrounded by her loving family.

Mae was born on January 31, 1992 in Edison, NJ. She was raised in Toms River where she graduated from Toms River High School North in 2010. Mae went on to Ocean County College for two years where she played basketball.

She finished her academic career at Stockton University graduating in 2015. While attending Stockton she participated in the Disney College Program, fulfilling her dream of working for the Walt Disney Company. She continued her career in Walt Disney World, working at the California Grill, where she made her “Disney family”.

Most recently, Mae was living in Illinois working for Axsun in logistics, until she received her diagnosis and had to move back home for treatment at Memorial Sloan Kettering.

Mae was the most selfless and kind human you could ever meet. She made friends everywhere she went with her bubbly and outgoing personality. When Mae wasn’t living her best life in Disney World, you could find her spending time with her three nephews, who absolutely adored her.

She was a huge New York Mets and Giants fan, a music enthusiast and Star Wars fanatic. She loved animals and would be found daily in the yard feeding the ducks and swans. Mae loved to cook and had a real appreciation for the culinary arts.

Mae is predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Joseph and Barbara Sharpe, paternal grandfather, Thomas Higham and beloved dog, Aiko. She is survived by her parents, Neil and Mary Beth Higham, sister Erin and her husband Brian Werner, nephews Landon, Grayson, and Liam, brother Patrick, and her paternal grandmother, Sophie Higham.

She is also survived by her Uncles and Aunts, Tim and Grace Sharpe, Joseph and Carol Sharpe, and Dean and Kathleen Higham, and cousins, Heather, Shannon and Joseph Sharpe and Kyle, Christopher and Daniel Higham, her loving pets Dexter, Carl, Jameson and Tequila and loving friends who became family all over the country.

The family deeply appreciates your support during this difficult time.
