Multiple Vehicles Hit by Tractor-Trailer at Stop & Shop

On Monday, a tractor-trailer crashed into several parked cars at Stop & Shop on Route 35, flipping one of them and breaking at least one utility pole, according to authorities. When it struck many cars parked in the grocery store's on-street lot, the tractor-trailer was traveling south on Route 35, also known as Richmond Avenue, according to Ocean Fire Company authorities.

News 12 New Jersey released surveillance footage from the area's cameras that captures the hit, showing at least three cars being pushed forward and a Jeep being overturned and landing on the tractor-trailer's bed.

The truck driver was unharmed, and the cars were empty when the fire department and Point Pleasant First Aid and Emergency Squad crews arrived to look for possible injuries.

According to fire officials, a crew from Jersey Central Power & Light had to fix the broken utility pole and clean up substances that had escaped from the vehicle.
