Severe Thunderstorm Watch

According to News12 Storm Watch, locally heavy rain with strong wind gusts are expected through late tonight.

For the majority of New Jersey, southeast Pennsylvania, and southern New York, another Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued. This covers Morristown, New Jersey; Philadelphia; and the western and southern suburbs of New York City.

The counties of Bergen, Burlington, Camden, Essex, Gloucester, Hudson, Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth, Morris, Ocean, Passaic, Somerset, Sussex, Union, and Warren are under watch.

More storms accompanying the cold front will develop as the evening wears on, posing a threat to Philadelphia, New York City, and Boston with lightning and strong gusts.

Accuweather states today is the hottest day so far this year; stay hydrated; storms can bring small hail and damaging winds to our area. Be prepared if conditions worsen.

With gusts of up to 60 mph, the storm has the potential to damage trees, siding, roofs, and electrical lines.
