Injury Reported After Jeep Hits Dollar Tree in Toms River

According to Toms River Police Department, following a Tuesday night collision at a Toms River Dollar Tree, the driver of a Jeep Wrangler was injured and transported to a nearby hospital with burns from a seatbelt and airbag. Dollar Tree remains closed at this time.

Police Chief Mitch Little stated that Edda Ramos, whose age and place of origin were not immediately available, was brought to the Community Medical Center in Toms River to receive treatment for minor injuries.

No injuries were reported to anyone within the store.

According to Little, Ramos lost control of the Jeep Wrangler and struck the support post when she was driving it in the Dollar Tree parking lot at 953 Fischer Blvd.

The building's outside roof structure partially collapsed as a result of the impact's force, and Tri-County Scanner News' Facebook photographs revealed significant damage.

The Toms River building inspector declared the structure hazardous, according to the Chief-of-Police.

According to him, Ramos received driving citations.

Eric Nelson, a traffic safety officer, is investigating.
