Ocean County Driver Suffers Medical Emergency: Crashes Car

Following a medical issue, a Toms River man was hurt in a collision on Route 70 on Sunday, according to Lakehurst Police Department.

Around 12:15 p.m., Robert Ricci, 84, experienced a medical issue while traveling on Route 70 near Center Street. Lakehurst police reported on Sunday. He lost control of his car and collided with a utility pole, causing the wires and pole to fall.

Jackson EMS transported Ricci to Community Medical Center so that he may receive additional care.

Due to the potential for danger, the McDonald's located at 98 Route 70 was forced to temporarily close when live wires fell onto its premises. According to the authorities, it also harmed the restaurant's electrical panel.

For around six hours, JCP&L utility workers restored the pole and electricity cables, causing traffic on Route 70 and Route 547 to be diverted.
