Bart was a devoted Father, Husband, Brother, Uncle, Grandfather and Great Grandfather. He always listened to many.
He was wise and always had advice to give. He had many friends at the Silver Ridge Park North Men’s Club, where he enjoyed playing Bocce and won four championships as the Team Captain.
He was also Sunshine Director of the Men’s Club for many years. He was a former Trustee and Treasurer of the Gilford Park Yacht Club in Toms River.
He was an outstanding athlete at Wood-Ridge High School where he played varsity football as a freshman and won a basketball scholarship to Fairleigh Dickson University.
He served in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1951-1953. He was a member of the American Legion for over 70 years as well as the VFW. Bart is survived by Lucy Southwick Hill, his son Jeffrey and wife Marcia, daughter Janice and husband Edward Kaminski and son Steven.
His sister Valerie Hill Dunn and husband George Dunn. Sister Barbara and husband Dr. Anthony Barrata. Three grandsons Edward Kaminski, Kevin Hill and wife Meagan.
Grandson Sean Hill and Granddaughter Brooke Kaminski Schlosser and husband Matthew Schlosser. Great granddaughter Madelyn Lucy Hill and great grandsons Nolan Hill, and Vance and Charlie Schlosser.
Upon discharge from the United States Army, he worked for Prudential Insurance Company for 30 years until retirement. He received many awards for outstanding sales while working as an Agent and Sales Manager and Registered Representative.
He and his wife Lucy enjoyed many trips to Florida, Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico and the Bahamas which were awarded to him for his highly successful sales.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to local VFW Association of your choosing in his memory.
Arrangements have been entrusted into the care of Carmona-Bolen Home for Funerals, 412 Main Street, Toms River, NJ, 08757. Services will be held at a later date.
