Increasing Heat and Humidity Precedes Stormy Weather Ahead in NJ
According to the National Weather Service, Monday sees another spike in heat and humidity, followed by a stormy Tuesday before the sun comes out again in time for the Fourth of July and the weekend after. The likelihood of afternoon and evening thunderstorms increases from 30 to 50 percent on Monday to 70 to 90 percent on Tuesday. The potential for extremely heavy rainfall from scattered thunderstorms could result in localized flash flooding and wind gusts that could cause damage.
Aside from the thunderstorms threats, weather conditions will be seasonable for early summer. Expect sunny to partly cloudy skies, with high temperatures in the mid 80s to near 90° and humid with heat indices in the 90s.
