Guilty Plea by Brick Man for Weapons Charge
According to the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office announced Monday that a Brick Township man has pled guilty to illegally having a pistol discovered during an investigation in 2024.
Justin M. Holden, 42, pleaded guilty to one count of unauthorized handgun possession before Superior Court Judge Kenneth T. Palmer in Toms River on Friday, according to Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer.
As part of an ongoing investigation, the prosecutor's office said the charge was related to search warrants that were executed on February 27, 2024, at a residence on Rocky Mountain Boulevard and on a car that belonged to Holden. The specifics of the inquiry were not revealed.
According to authorities, a Glock G43 9mm handgun that had been reported stolen from Georgia and hollow point ammo were found during the search.
According to the prosecutor's office, Holden was charged, his identity was added to the National Crime Information Center Database, and on March 11, 2024, Brick police detained him.
As a result of New Jersey Bail Reform, he was brought to the
Ocean County Jail before being released.
Holden is being detained in the jail on an unrelated charge, and his sentencing is set for August 22.
At sentencing, the prosecutor's office will ask for a five-year prison term with 42 months of parole ineligibility.
