Jersey Shore Faces Rip Current Warnings Due to Tropical Depression Chantal

As a result of Tropical Storm Chantal, beachgoers are now at a heightened risk of encountering rip currents.

As Tropical Depression Chantal moves through the region, rip currents were a concern at the Jersey shore on Monday into Tuesday.

In Wildwood, the leftover holiday weekend crowds were treated to sunshine, a nice breeze, and a churning ocean.

HERE COMES CHANTAL... After a spectacular 3-day holiday weekend, it's back to work, back to reality... and back to summertime humidity and thunderstorms too.

As the remnants of Tropical Storm Chantal slide up the coast today, deep tropical moisture will enter New Jersey. We will NOT see "tropical storm conditions".

It will NOT rain everywhere today. But somewhere in New Jersey, rainfall could be heavy enough to cause ponding and flooding issues. Never ever underestimate the rainfall potential of tropical moisture.
