NJ will have widespread showers and thunderstorms expected this afternoon throughtonight.

Storms will be capable of producing rainfall rates exceeding 2” per hour at times. Rainfall amounts of 1-3” are generally expected, with localized amounts of 5-7” possible.

Numerous instances of flash flooding of urbanized and poor drainage areas, small streams, and creeks may result.

Significant flash flooding is possible.

The location of greatest threat for flash flooding is expected across the Moderate Risk area.

Isolated severe thunderstorms are possible this afternoon and evening. Locally damaging winds are the main threat.
