New Jersey is prepared for multiple rounds of rain showers and sporadic thunderstorms with high wind gusts.

According to National Weather Service forecasters, sporadic showers should begin to form late Wednesday afternoon, and by late tonight, more widespread showers and thunderstorms are anticipated.

By Thursday evening, areas north of the Pennsylvania Turnpike and Interstate 195 should receive 0.5 to 1.5 inches of rain, with some areas perhaps receiving up to 2 or 3 inches.

There is a marginal, or low, chance that some thunderstorms will turn severe, according to the Storm Prediction Center, with small hail, intense rain, and wind gusts of up to 60 mph.
With possibilities ranging from 50% to 80% in New Jersey, Thursday will have the highest likelihood of rainfall in the area.

The afternoon will continue to be mild, with highs of the mid-70s to 80s. There will be a lot of rain and warm, muggy weather throughout the day.

According to forecasters, dew points will continue to rise, resulting in humid air conditions.

A cold front will move through on Friday, changing the weather pattern and ending the ongoing rain. A dryer day with temperatures in the lower 80s is anticipated as high pressure moves in from the west.
Heavy rainfall is not expected throughout the weekend, although there may be sporadic light showers, especially in southern New Jersey.

The outlook for the first part of next week is still a little hazy. Two possible tropical systems that could affect local weather patterns are being tracked by the National Hurricane Center.

According to current forecasts, there will be a steady drop in temperature and a modest 20% to 40% probability of rain from Monday through Wednesday. Check the weather forecast.
