Arctic Conditions Bring Snow and Ice to New Jersey This Friday
With snow falling in far South Jersey and some of the lowest temperatures this season, it feels like a freezing winter Friday in New Jersey even though the official day of winter isn't until later this month.
The southern part of the state is experiencing snowfall as of Friday morning. But little buildup is anticipated.
The
National Weather Service says that although little accumulation is expected there, flurries and snow showers may extend as far north as the I-78 corridor.
As the day goes on, clouds will cover the skies in northern Jersey, according to forecasters.
The majority of New Jersey will experience high temperatures in the upper 20s to upper 30s, with dips in the 40s at the coast.
Forecasters warned that there may be some freezing drizzle on Friday night, especially in Central Jersey and the sout
h.
Although it will be warmer than Friday, another cold front is expected to pass over the state on Sunday and into Sunday night.
Forecasters predicted that Monday would see a return of frigid temperatures, up to 20 degrees below average.
Forecasters are still unsure of the course of events, but more snow and rain may fall in the middle of the week. Stay up-to-date with the latest
forecast in your area.
