Another Winter Storm May Impact New Jersey This Coming Weekend

Forecasters predict that a new system may bring another round of snow over the weekend as New Jersey recovers from a foot of snow in most of the state.

Forecasters are monitoring a weather pattern that may indicate fresh snowfall this coming weekend as New Jersey recovers from a storm that covered the state with up to 17 inches of snow and ice on Sunday.

Another major storm that could strike the East Coast and possibly as far inland as areas of Tennessee and West Virginia is becoming more likely, according to the National Weather Service's Weather Prediction Center.
The prediction center stated, "It is too early to know the details," but forecasters are considering a number of factors, including extremely low temperatures that will persist until next week.

People are being forced to bundle up as they deal with snow removal over the weekend due to high temperatures in the teens and twenties during the day and wind chills at or below freezing.

A "high-altitude disturbance" is also being monitored by the forecasters, who predict that it will dip out of Canada on Thursday and "deepen across the East by Saturday, leading to a strong surface low-pressure system."

The extremely cold air and the surface low "will result in widespread heavy precipitation," according to the prediction center.

The amount of precipitation that occurs on land and offshore will depend on the timing and trajectory of the disturbance from Canada and the surface low, according to experts.

The weather service advised, "Please keep updated with the latest forecasts this week."
