

It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of John W. Henn, Jr., (know to his family as John John) at the age of 59. John left us on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, in New City, NY at his residence.
Born and raised in Toms River, NJ, John was a proud graduate of Toms River High School North, Class of 1984. His passion for landscaping and the outdoors reflected his vibrant spirit, and his infectious smile could brighten even the cloudiest of days. John had a remarkable ability to connect with others, always eager to extend a helping hand to anyone in need.
John’s journey took a joyful turn when he moved to New York, where he became an integral part of The ARC Rockland community. There, he truly came alive, embracing life and the friendships he made. He found immense joy in his role as a Crew Member at Dunkin Donuts, a position he cherished since 2014, and where his dedication and warmth touched the hearts of many.
A true competitor at heart, John proudly participated in many Special Olympics events such as, Basketball, Soccer, Floor Ball and Track and Field. John was most proud going to West Point Special Olympics and consistently claiming 1st place in the 100m and 200m run, showcasing his determination and spirit.
John loved being home and having a home cooked meal and spending time with his family.
John was predeceased by his loving parents, John W. Henn, Sr. and Theresa.
He is survived by his devoted twin sisters, Theresa Dos Santos and her husband Fernando, and Michele Giordano and her husband Nick. He leaves behind treasured nieces and nephews: Vinnie Ciarla and his wife Alicia, Theresa Dos Santos, and Antonio Dos Santos, as well as his beloved grand niece and nephew, Julia and Cody Ciarla.
As we remember John, we celebrate his unwavering love for family, his enthusiasm for life, and the joyful moments he shared during holidays and gatherings. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 from 5 – 8 pm at Kedz Funeral Home, 1123 Hooper Avenue, Toms River. A Mass of Christian burial will take place on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at 10:00 am at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 685 Hooper Avenue, Toms River. Interment to follow.
