Below-freezing temps turn Wildwood beach into 'ice skating rink' !

New Jersey continues to see a stretch of below-freezing temperatures this week.
It's been so cold that people are even ice skating on the beach down at the Jersey Shore.

The below-freezing temperatures in late January 2026 have frozen tidal water on New Jersey beaches, allowing people to ice skate directly on the sand in locations like Wildwood and Manasquan.

The intense cold caused shallow, high-tide water to turn into solid ice, creating a unique skating surface.

Locations: Reports of skating on the beach emerged from Wildwood and Manasquan Inlet.
