Hello everyone, my name is Alex Lawes, and I’m creating this fundraiser on behalf of my family after the loss of my mother, Kim Lawes, on January 31, 2026.

My mom was the kindest soul, a devoted wife, an incredibly loving mother, and someone who lived her life with an open heart. She found joy in the simple things, like spending time with her family and surrounding herself with nature. She believed deeply in leading with love and helping others, even if it was just by putting a smile on a stranger’s face through her genuine kindness.

As we grieve, our family is also facing unexpected expenses, including memorial arrangements, medical costs (as she unfortunately spent several weeks in the hospital), and unpaid time away from work. We are asking for help to ease this financial burden during an incredibly difficult time.

Please know that any contribution, no matter how small, is deeply appreciated, and we are not asking anyone to give more than they are comfortable with as my mom would not have wanted that. If you’re unable to donate, simply keeping our family in your thoughts means just as much to us. Your kindness and support have already brought us much comfort.
