NJ Man Stabbed, Chased And Stabbed Again In South Jersey

According to Middle Township police, a man from Cape May was taken into custody after he repeatedly stabbed a man while pursuing him across a parking lot and Route 9.

Daniel C. Thomas, 35, has been charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, unauthorized possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and certain persons not to possess a weapon in the attack that occurred on Monday.
The victim, a 40-year-old South River resident, is being treated at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City.

According to authorities, Thomas arrived in a car, got out, and approached the man who was standing in front of the Beach House Motel in Rio Grande before repeatedly stabbing him.

According to authorities, the victim attempted to flee, but Thomas pursued him across Route 9 into a neighboring parking lot and continued stabbing him. Thomas then drove off.

Police stated that the incident was not random and that Thomas and the victim were acquainted, but they could not specify how.

Thomas was located and taken into custody by Middle Township police and the Cape May County Prosecutor's Office, according to the police. The location of his arrest was not disclosed.

Thomas is being detained at the Cape May County jail until legal proceedings take place.
