Firefighters Respond to Wildfires in Ocean County, NJ

Firefighters Respond to Multiple Wildfires in Ocean County, NJ

Numerous wildfires in Ocean County have been put out by the New Jersey Forest Fire Service. On Monday afternoon, the New Jersy Forest Fire Service responded to a wildfire in the area of mile marker 25 on Route 195 in Jackson Township, Ocean County.

Smoke is seen rising into the sky in footage captured by a nearby traffic camera.

Between Route 9 and Jackson Mills Road on Interstate 195, one westbound lane was still closed. Interstate 195 has reopened one of its two westbound lanes.

Officials have not stated what might have started the fire, and crews have not disclosed the size of the fire.
