State Police Seeking Public's Assistance with an Attempted Murder Investigation.
The
New Jersey State Police Cold Case Unit and Troop “B” Criminal Investigation Office are seeking the public's assistance with information regarding a shooting investigation that occurred on March 31, 2020.
Today marks the sixth anniversary of troopers from Troop “B” Perryville Station responding to a shooting incident on I-78 east at Exit 6 in Greenwich Township, Warren County.
Based on the preliminary investigation, on March 31, at approximately 5:57 a.m., the victim, identified as a 45-year-old female from Easton, PA, was traveling eastbound on I-78 and exited at Exit 6 toward Greenwich Township.
While on the roadway, the victim’s vehicle was overtaken by the suspect’s vehicle. The suspect exited his vehicle and fired several rounds at the victim, causing significant injuries. After the shooting, the suspect re-entered his vehicle and fled the scene, continuing into Greenwich Township.
The suspect was described as a white male with longer hair, wearing dark-colored clothing at the time of the shooting. He was believed to be of medium height and build. He was believed to have fled the scene in a newer model, full-sized sedan, dark in color. A composite sketch was created depicting how the suspect may have appeared on the morning of the shooting.
