Toms River Beach Badges Go On Sale April 20: Here’s Where to Get Yours

Toms River Beach Badges will be on sale beginning April 20th at the Toms River Recreation Building (temporarily located at the Youth Services Building- 1505 N Bay Ave), as well as the Tax Office in Town Hall and the Toms River Senior Center Monday- Friday between 9am-4pm.

Lock In Your Toms River Beach Badge Before Summer Crowds Hit

Toms River is officially gearing up for beach season. Beach badges for Ortley Beach and Shelter Cove will be on sale beginning Monday, April 20, with multiple in‑person locations across town and convenient weekday hours from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Whether you’re a regular at Ortley, bringing the kids to Shelter Cove, or planning a full summer at the shore, now is the time to grab your badges and lock in the pre‑season rate of $50 if purchased by June 14, 2026.

2026 beach badge prices

  • Pre‑Season Full Season Badge: $50
    If purchased by June 14, 2026
  • Regular Season Badge: $65
    Starting June 15, 2026
  • Senior Badges: $15
    Lifetime senior badges completed at Toms River Recreation only
  • Veterans Badges: Free
    All veterans, their spouses, and children under 17 qualify with a VA letter of qualification

Children 12 and under do not need badges.

Where to buy Toms River beach badges (starting April 20)

Badges will be sold Monday–Friday, 9 a.m.–4 p.m. at the following locations:

Toms River Recreation Department – Temporary Location

  • Address: Youth Services Building, 1505 N Bay Ave, Toms River, NJ
  • Notes: Recreation office is temporarily relocated here
  • Payment: Credit card, check, or cash accepted

Tax Collector’s Office – Town Hall

  • Address: 33 Washington Street, Toms River, NJ
  • Payment: Check or cash accepted
  • Hours: Monday–Friday, 9 a.m.–4 p.m.

Toms River Senior Center

  • Address: 652 Garfield Avenue, Toms River, NJ
  • Payment: Check or cash accepted
  • Hours: Monday–Friday, 9 a.m.–4 p.m.

Buying badges at the beach

Once the season gets closer, badges will also be available at the beach:

  • Lifeguard Houses: 4th Ave and Fielder Ave (Ortley Beach)
  • Schedule:
    • Weekends from May 24 to June 14
    • Then daily through Labor Day, 10 a.m.–5 p.m.
  • Payment at the beach: Credit card only
