A Brave Act: Neighbor Helps Woman Escape Flames in Toms River
According to the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office, a Toms River woman is being treated in a burn unit after her neighbor saved her from her blazing mobile home on Monday.
According to
Ocean County Prosecutor's Office, the fire on Tuyahova Boulevard also injured a neighbor and a firefighter.
The prosecutor's office stated that the fire, which was reported shortly before 11 a.m., was determined to be unintentional.
When first responders arrived, the neighbor had saved the woman from the house. She was brought to Philadelphia's Thomas Jefferson University Burn Center, where authorities reported that she was stable on Tuesday.
The Toms River Building Department determined that the
mobile home was uninhabitable.
According to officials, investigators concluded that the fire originated in a bedroom and that lithium-ion battery failure could not be ruled out as the source of the incident.
