Grandson Arrested After Grandmother’s Fatal Stabbing in Ocean County

According to Jackson Police Departmentafter her grandson called 911 to report a murder—a crime prosecutors claim the 18-year-old committed—a 69-year-old woman was discovered with two knives protruding from her torso.

Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer announced that Louis Brown has been charged with murder, unlawful possession of a firearm, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose in connection with the death of his grandmother, Darlene Brown, in Jackson on Monday.
According to Jackson police and the prosecutor's office, a unit at the Jackson Green unit complex on Justin Way called 911 at around seven in the morning on Monday.

According to the prosecutor's office, the caller informed police that someone had been murdered.

When officers arrived, they discovered Louis Brown standing at the front entrance. He emerged with his hands raised and was taken into custody right away, according to the authorities.

After entering, officers discovered Darlene Brown's body in a bedroom upstairs. Authorities stated she had two knives protruding from her body and obvious knife wounds to her face and neck.

According to the prosecutor's office, investigators identified Louis Brown as the person who had stabbed his grandmother and called 911.

Other information regarding the circumstances surrounding the stabbing was not disclosed by the authorities.

While awaiting a detention hearing, Louis Brown is being detained at the Ocean County Jail in Toms River.
