Search Continues for 20 Year-Old Missing Swimmer at the Jersey Shore

Following a water rescue in Ocean City, NJ on Monday night, one person was found and one is still unaccounted for, according to officials on Tuesday morning.

According to Ocean City police, the hunt for the missing swimmer is still active as of Tuesday afternoon.In order to allow rescue workers to continue coordinating rescue efforts, they are asking the public to stay away from the area of 10th Street and the Beach at this time," police stated.
Around 5:05 p.m. A young man who was last seen on a boogie board in the surf close to 10th Street was reported missing to the U.S. Coast Guard on Monday.

The Coast Guard reported that two individuals were on boogie boards approximately 200 yards offshore.

The Ocean City Beach Patrol successfully recovered one person, and they reported to the authorities that they witnessed the missing man lose his boogie board before being struck by a wave and failing to rise again.
