Severe Storm Threat for New Jersey Includes Damaging Winds and Hail
The Garden State is predicted to see sporadic thunderstorms on Wednesday, followed by rising temperatures for the remainder of the week.
The
National Weather Service's (NWS) most recent forecast states that humidity will rise "significantly" on Wednesday, even though highs will still be in the mid-80s under largely cloudy skies.
There may be a few thunderstorms predicted to form throughout Wednesday afternoon and evening, from 4 to 10 p.m.
Some of these storms have the potential to be "strong to severe," with short-lived, intense downpours and locally damaging winds.
Despite being classified as "marginal risk" by the meteorological service, some of these storms have the potential to produce hail up to one inch in diameter and severe winds, according to the NWS.
Residents of New Jersey are advised by the NWS to keep an eye on the most recent forecasts and ensure that they may receive watches and warnings.
