Remembering Walter Coburn: A Friendly Face at Shop Rite for Over 20 Years

Walter W. Coburn passed on June 7, 2026. He was born on March 3, 1950 and loved his birthday. Walter grew up in Nutley, NJ and attended special education classes.

Walter W. Coburn passed on June 7, 2026. He was born on March 3, 1950 and loved his birthday.

Walter grew up in Nutley, NJ and attended special education classes. He moved with his family to Bayville, NJ in 1972. He was employed by Shop Rite in Toms River for over 20 years. Walter was very sociable and well liked by co-workers and customers.

Walter enjoyed all sports but especially the NY Yankees. He will be remembered for his friendly smile and love of family, friends, God and country. His favorite song was “God Bless America” and he sang it frequently.

Walter was predeceased by his parents, William and Bernice Coburn. He is survived by a sister, Patricia Lanagan and a nephew, Christopher Lanagan.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026 from 10:00 am until the Prayer Service at 11:30 am at Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main Street, Toms River, NJ. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Toms River.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to NJ Special Olympics is greatly appreciated.
