Car Slams Into Parked Vehicle In Ocean County, Injuring Woman and Child

A vehicle struck a parked car in Manchester early on Sunday, critically injuring a woman and a 6-year-old child, according to police. Manchester Capt. Albert Vega stated that the youngster had a leg injury and that Vanessa Movil, 25, of Manchester, complained of pain in her head, chest, and leg following the collision. According to him, both were sent to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune for medical care.

According to Vega, the collision occurred on Eighth Avenue close to Cumberland Boulevard at around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday.

According to Vega, Ricardo Cleophat, 33, of Manchester, rear-ended a gold 2009 Hyundai Azera that was stopped on Eighth Avenue less than fifty feet from the stop sign at Cumberland while he was traveling west on Eighth Avenue in a 2018 Honda Fit.

Cleophat was unharmed since he was buckled up. He claimed that Movil, the 6-year-old, and a 2-year-old child who was not hurt were all passengers in the Honda.

According to Vega, Movil was not buckled up when the collision occurred.

Passaic resident Yehuda Kellerman, 27, who was seated in the Hyundai, said he was unharmed.

Although the department's Traffic Safety unit's patrolman Keith Douglas is conducting an investigation, Vega stated that the primary cause of the collision appears to be a failure to maintain lane.

Robert Wood Johnson paramedics, EMTs from Berkeley First Aid, and EMTs from the Manchester Township Division of Emergency Services all provided assistance at the scene.
