Family Grieves as 3-Year-Old Boy Drowns in Backyard Pool in NJ

BLACKWOOD, NJ — According to an online fundraiser, a family is grieving the loss of their 3-year-old son, who drowned in a pool at their home on Saturday.

When the boy's twin sister came into the house drenched from the pool, Elijah's father discovered him face down in the water, motionless."I will always remember these images," his father, Michael, wrote on social media. "Your life can change in ten minutes. Never take it for granted.

The child, also known as Eli, had no pulse when he was brought to the hospital, where his heartbeat was restored.

The family is currently getting ready to give his organs to help others because the brain swelling was too severe.

Eli leaves behind Mickey, his 6-year-old brother, and his twin.Eli's family continued, "He provided so much love and warmth to everyone around him. He was known for his gentle soul, beautiful smile, big blue eyes, and ultimate cuddles."

As of Wednesday morning, more than $46,000 had been raised to help the family pay for the death's expenses as well as additional specialized care for the two kids, such therapy.
