Two people have been arrested after a months-long investigation into illegal drug trafficking in Ocean County, according to the Brick Township Police Department.

On June 29, the Brick Township Police Department's Street Crimes Unit partnered with the Ocean County Narcotics Strike Force to carry out multiple search warrants tied to the investigation.

Police identified Michael Casey, of Toms River, as a major distributor of methamphetamine operating throughout Ocean County during the course of the investigation.

According to investigators, the Brick Township Police Department's Street Crimes Unit obtained 13 court-approved search warrants as part of its investigation into Casey's alleged drug trafficking activities.

On the same day, detectives with the Brick Street Crimes Unit and the Ocean County Narcotics Strike Force conducted surveillance on Casey. He was located and arrested without incident, authorities said. Casey was arrested and charged with CDS-related offenses and was brought to Brick Police Headquarters for processing.
As the investigation continued, detectives with the Brick Township Street Crimes Unit and the Ocean County Narcotics Strike Force simultaneously carried out search warrants at two homes—one in Brick Township and another in Toms River—as well as a storage unit and three vehicles.

Working alongside the Toms River Emergency Services Unit and the Brick Township Special Emergency Response Team, officers executed "knock-and-announce" search warrants at both residences.

According to police, a search of the Toms River home uncovered approximately 800 grams of methamphetamine, a digital cash-counting machine, a quantity of psilocybin mushrooms, drug-packaging materials including assorted bags, multiple digital scales, and $6,751 in cash.

A search of the Brick Township home uncovered more than a half-ounce of methamphetamine, along with drug-packaging materials, digital scales, and $1,567 in cash, according to police.

Authorities also arrested Tiffany Romano on multiple controlled dangerous substance (CDS)-related charges. She was transported to Brick Township Police Headquarters for processing after being taken into custody without incident, police said.

According to police, the suspects were transported by the Brick Township Patrol Division to the Ocean County Jail, where they are being held pending their initial court appearances.
