Police secured the scene and arrested the suspect, identified as Kendra Angell, 21, of Glen Gardner, without further incident.
Angell was taken to Brielle Police Headquarters for processing before being transported to a medical facility for treatment.
Brielle EMS and Advanced Life Support crews responded to the scene, provided medical care and transported the victim to
Jersey Shore University Medical Center for emergency treatment. He is now listed in stable condition.
Angell faces several charges, including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon resulting in serious bodily injury, aggravated assault with extreme indifference to human life, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and endangering another person, police said.
She remains in custody while awaiting a detention hearing before a judge.
The investigation remains ongoing and is being handled by the
Brielle Police Department. Police said additional information could be released as the investigation continues and when appropriate.
Brielle police also praised the officers who responded and thanked Brielle EMS and medical personnel for their quick response and assistance.
