Trooper Marc Castellano Softball Tournament Returns to Brick This October

BRICK, NJ — The Marc Castellano Foundation will host its annual Trooper Marc Castellano Softball Tournament on Saturday, October 3, at the Drum Point Sports Complex in Brick, bringing together 16 teams from local, county, and state law enforcement agencies for a day of competition, community, and remembrance.

Honoring Trooper Marc Castellano’s Legacy

The tournament honors New Jersey State Trooper Marc K. Castellano, an Ocean County native who was tragically killed in the line of duty on June 6, 2010. Trooper Castellano was struck by a passing motorist on I‑195 while assisting in the search for a reported armed suspect. His death led to the creation of New Jersey’s Move Over Law, requiring drivers to slow down and change lanes when approaching emergency vehicles displaying flashing lights.

The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office and law enforcement agencies across the state continue to honor Trooper Castellano’s service, sacrifice, and the lasting impact he made on roadway safety.
