Jadaya Bivins, Teen from Toms River
Jadaya Bivins will be one of the orphans in the Broadway musical when it is broadcast live on national television on Thursday.
Jadaya Bivins is a name you should remember. She's a local actress who recently landed a major role as part of the cast of NBC's live broadcast of the musical "Annie."
Bivins, a 15-year-old student from Toms River says landing a role in a major network show is only the next step in a music and acting career that began when she was in first grade.
Jadaya has spent years preparing for her chance on national television, from singing in school talent events to bigger engagements at Asbury's legendary Stone Pony and even the Apollo Theater in New York.

Jadaya, who now is a freshman at the Ocean County Vocational Technical Schools' Grunin Performing Arts Academy, won the lead roles in the Intermediate South musicals in seventh and eighth grade as well as earned the main role in Toms River Intermediate South's performance of 'Into The Woods' while she was in sixth grade.
But it was apparently the Society Performers Academy in Point Pleasant Beach that pushed Bivins to branch out into acting. She went on to find a talent agency in New York City, which led to an audition for NBC's 'Annie.'
Jadaya's path to 'Annie Live!' began in July, when she received her first callback, according to numerous news articles. She landed a role in the orphan ensemble and has been rehearsing with Oscar nominee Taraji P. Henson, who plays the classic role of Miss Hannigan, for months.
Get your popcorn ready, on Thursday, December 2nd, at 8 p.m., Jadaya Bivins will be seen on NBC's 'Annie,' which will be broadcast live from Gold Coast Studios in Bethpage, New York. Daddy Warbucks is played by Harry Connick, Jr., and Orphan Annie is played by Celina Smith.
