This week, the Jersey Shore is expected to have thunderstorms, strong winds, and numerous rounds of heavy rain. But when will we be hit by bad weather?
Overnight rain had already covered the state Wednesday morning, and it was expected to taper off by the afternoon. According to the
National Weather Service, another bout of rain is expected to strike the state late Wednesday night into Thursday morning, making for a wet commute.
Spotty minor flooding is expected at the Jersey Shore during high tide, according to forecasters. In a morning discussion, National Weather Service forecasters warned that minor rises in rivers and creeks could occur, but flooding shouldn't be a major problem outside of ordinary ponding on roadways.
While the impact on motorists is expected to be minor, forecasters advise New Jersey drivers to add a few minutes to their morning commute over the next few days as rain falls across the state.
According to
CBS, the Opening Day game between the Yankees and the Red Sox in New York has been postponed owing to the rainy weather.
