Six Flags claimed in a news release that the site will "celebrate the broadest array of beautification and upgrading activities in the parks' nearly 50-year history." "As guests come, they will notice a variety of improvements and see dozens of projects in the works, including new eateries, rides, events, and animal encounters, all of which are expected to be completed later this spring and summer."
From April 15-22, Six Flags Great Adventure will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on April 23-24, according to the park.
From April 15 to 24, the Wild Safari Drive-Thru Adventure will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
This spring, there are a number of new additions, including:
Single rider lines: "Single rider lines will be available at Jersey Devil Coaster, El Toro, Nitro, and Medusa to reduce wait times by filling every available seat."
Eateries that have been renovated include: "Yum Yum Café and Granny's, two of the park's largest indoor restaurants, will have new floors, décor, menu boards, and traffic flow. A new outdoor bar will be added at Granny's."
VIP tour of the Giraffe Encounter Safari: "Guests will be taken on an off-road adventure in open-air trucks as part of this unique safari VIP experience. Guests will be led through seven areas of the Wild Safari by an educational and engaging tour guide, including the option to hand-feed giraffes at Camp Aventura. The safari's latest offspring, which include three giraffe calves, Sawyer the rhinoceros, red lechwe and sable calves, and more, may be seen. The Wild Safari also includes a five-mile stretch of recently constructed two-lane road. Tickets for the tours can be purchased in advance or at the park, and tours will depart from the theme park on weekends through September 4."
Six Flags Great Adventure is also hiring for the 2022 season, with most positions paying between $15 and $20 per hour. Applicants must be at least 14 years old.
